Joe Hendry Reveals WWE Wrestler Who Inspired His Career in Wrestling
Joe Hendry, a TNA star, has disclosed the WWE wrestler who sparked his interest in entering the wrestling industry. Hendry first ventured into the business in 2013 and has since performed in promotions such as ICW, ROH, and has been a regular competitor on TNA for the past three years. At 36 years old, Hendry recently had his opportunity in WWE, making his debut on “NXT” in the #1 Contenders Battle Royal to determine the next challenger for Trick Williams’ NXT title. Speaking on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Hendry credited The Rock as his inspiration for pursuing a career in wrestling.

Joe Hendry discussed with Chris Van Vliet how Queen’s “We Will Rock You” inspired him to strategically design his entrance music. He described his approach as reverse-engineering the song based on what he wanted to achieve. For Hendry, professional wrestling revolves around engaging the crowd, so his entrance music is crafted to guide the audience’s participation. He emphasized that throughout the song, there are clear cues for the audience to follow, such as calling out phrases that prompt a response and incorporating hand claps. Hendry mentioned that his song prompts the audience to wave their hands from side to side, drawing inspiration from Queen’s method of structuring “We Will Rock You” to achieve a specific rhythm and audience interaction. He highlighted using a BPM of 120 for the faster segments, aiming for a hypnotic and engaging timing akin to popular music rhythms.
