Is Maven Huffman out of touch? Not at all. While he might not have been a mega star, there’s a reason fans still remember him fondly.
I did watch during his era, and I thought he was okay but his videos have pulled me in – they’re genuinely entertaining. Maven himself doesn’t try to hype his career beyond what it was. He’s honest about his limitations and even holds himself accountable for some of the missed opportunities.
But let’s not overlook two key things: (1) Maven has serious insider knowledge about the wrestling business.
(2) he’s got a rare gift for breaking down that knowledge in a way that’s clear, concise, and totally engaging for viewers.
I’ll admit, as a kid, I found him pretty forgettable in the ring – but he’s definitely winning me over now.
